In 1994, the Jumoke Committee was established by a group of health-care professionals and individuals concerned about the emotional well-being of children who have sickle cell disorder.
Camp Jumoke is the only camp in Canada that serves the unique emotional and health-care needs of these children. Any child with SCD between the ages of 8 and 16 is eligible to attend Camp Jumoke, where camp counselors are trained to work with our children, in coordination with our staff of health care professionals. Funds raised throughout the year determines the number of children we are able to send to camp each year.Transportation
We feel strongly that the experience of attending Camp begins with the bus trip up to the Camp. Bus transportation to and from Camp Wenonah is included in registration for all Camp Jumoke campers, but parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up campers at the bus location. Parents also have the option of driving their child to camp, as long as Camp Jumoke is notified in advance.
If your child is taking the bus, please arrive at Julliard Public School at the times indicated below.
