Who: Anyone who would like to support Camp Jumoke's mandate of sending 36 or more children with Sickle Cell Disease to camp in the summer.

What: Camp Jumoke's Annual Bowl-a-thon: the 7th Annual Turtle Bowl ; Ten Pin and Cosmic Bowling

When: Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Where: Playtime Bowl, 33 Samor Road, Toronto, M6A 1J2

Why: To enhance Camp Jumoke's ability to send more children with Sickle Cell Disease to a two-week camp every summer

Registration begins at 11am

Bowling begins promptly at 1:00pm

As a direct result of your support of Camp Jumoke in 2008, 36 children were able to attend Camp Jumoke. The children truly enjoyed themselves and had the opportunity to experience those activities that make summer camp so special.

While we are very happy with our achievements in 2008, in 2009 we want to send even more children to Camp Jumoke! In order to do this we once again are asking for your help.

With your support, we can reach as much people as possible; while maintaining the integrity of our message and communication network.

What is Sickle Cell?

Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder that causes the distortion, or “sickling,” of red blood cells. It occurs when a child inherits a sickle cell gene from each of their parents.

What's Happening...

On SATURDAY, February 13, 2009, Camp Jumoke will be hosting its
7th Annual Camp Jumoke Ten Pin Bowl-A-Thon.

This bowl-a-thon is a great opportunity to get out of the house in the cold months of winter, have some fun, and support Camp Jumoke in its goal of enriching the lives of children with sickle cell disease.

So, start stretching those muscles, and get ready for a day of fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Our goal this year is for each bowler to raise $100 with the hope that we will raise enough money to send 40 children to camp next year!

Those bowlers who raise over $250 have the opportunity to win prizes that have included Argos ticket passes, a one-night stay at a prestigious hotel and wonderful spa packages.

Furthermore, top scoring teams will receive a trophy for each team member.

Please note that pre-registration is required by January 7th, 2009 for both teams and individual bowlers.

Teams are limited to 5 members and individual players will be assigned to a team. For those who pre-register by the deadline, they will be entered into a draw to win an amazing gift package.
